As an older person myself, I specialise in working with older people who may no longer be working or who may be facing retirement or redundancy with some apprehension.
After a lifetime of working on behalf of other people, their parents, their children and their employers, some people find they retire and are suddenly confronted with the rest of their life and have no idea what they want to do with it.
When a partner dies or leaves, there is also the issue of adjusting to living life alone.
I work with older people who are planning their retirement and wanting to develop new interests. I am an older person myself and can see other people around me proving that retirement is a fulfilling time; as a friend said recently, it is a beginning rather than an end and as an older person herself, she understands the realities and some of the constraints of being older.
I also coach older learners who wish to retrain or start new businesses. You are never too old to learn, to sign onto a new course or even become an undergraduate. I used to teach with the Open University and my oldest graduate was 87.
Consultations take place at the Goldings Hill Clinic, or at other venues in Loughton, Epping Forest and Waltham Forest and by phone.
