TRANSITIONAL COACHING
AUGUST and SEPTEMBER OFFER:

A lot has been written about coaching.
Some people confuse coaching with sports coaching, but the two are very different.
An effective Coach will never yell at you or force you to run that extra mile.
A coach will support you while you identify your own goals and will be there for you every step of the way.
The International Coach Federation "defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximise their personal and professional potential" http://www.coachfederation.org/
So, what is coaching?
You identify your own goals.
A Transitional Coach will never tell you what to do.
Many people do not know what their goals are. They may have drifted for years and have been happy to do so. Then their circumstances change and they do not know what to do next.
You choose your goals.
Goals are often very personal, such as wanting to give up smoking or wishing to develop a new career path.
Goals may be concerned with improving relationships in the workplace or at home.
Coaching will enable you to identify your "inner game" and your "opponent". Your opponent is everything that holds you back and prevents you from achieving your goal.
W. Timothy Gallway's, The Inner Game of Tennis not only inspired would be tennis champions. It also encouraged people to see that psychological obstacles are far more likely to prevent them from reaching their goals than almost any other factor.
Gallway called this an "inner game", one which can be lost simply by not addressing, "the opponent within one's own head."
Coaching enables you to identify your goals and to discover your "inner game" that prevents you from moving forward. More importantly, it shows you how to overcome obstacles and to achieve all of the things you really want to achieve!
Coaching gives direction
If you do not know where you are going, how will you know which is the best road to drive along?
Coaching directs, while you find your way.
Coaching is not .......
A word of warning, coaching is not counselling, nor is it therapy.
Counselling support can be obtained by contacting the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy at http://www.bacp.co.uk/
You will notice that the focus is on you doing the work.
Coaches do not tell clients what to do. That said, many people do not know what they want. They liked things as they were.....
Then they find themselves facing an unexpected situation such as redundancy, divorce, the loss of a loved one.
or they experience difficult situations at work and do not know what to do next
or they know they just have to change direction or make changes in their personal life, but are not sure how or what to do next.
Many find retirement or redundancy is forced on them, just when they feel they still have so much to offer.
Many people are newly retired, or unexpectedly at home, and they and their partners wonder what this will do to their relationship.
This is where coaching really helps
What you can expect:
Coaching can take place over a coffee in a hotel in London or in Waltham Abbey, in your gym or in your office. It more usually takes place by phone or by email.
The initial session will last one hour and will be entirely focussed on you, your goals and your aspirations.
During your first session you will decide whether your coach is the right person to work with you. If the coach feels your needs could be better met by another practitioner, she will refer you to another source of support.
Your coach will explain to you what coaching can and cannot do. She will ask you questions, and you may be asked to fill in a questionnaire ahead of the session.
You will be encouraged to talk about the things you wish to change and you will immediately start to work out a way to make those changes.
For some people, one session may be enough for them to sort out in their own minds what they wish to do. More usually, the first session will lead on to an agreed number of sessions being booked for email / phone coaching. Sessions are paid for a month a time or where there are face-to-face meetings, on the day, if you prefer. Please see the terms tab for prices.
All About You offers one-to-one sessions with individuals or small groups at home, in the office or anywhere mutually convenient and quiet. It is possible to buy a four or six week class that can be attended by a few colleagues or friends.
Email or phone coaching sessions are offered but some clients prefer to meet prior to email or phone support being initiated, if reasonably possible.
At all times the focus will be on what you want and what you really want to do about making your future happier and more fulfilled.
Some clients feel that their session is the only time that they can speak and be heard in an otherwise busy life.
